4th Grade

Grove City Christian Academy • Grove City, PA

Fall 2019

I visited this lovely 4th grade classroom and taught a lesson on the 13 Colonies, and the Massachusetts Bay Colony specifically, as requested by their teacher. These lessons were so fun to teach, and the students absolutely loved being able to create their own colonies. I learned a lot about lesson preparation during this field. One of the exit tickets I created had a typo on it that thoroughly confused the students and I had to do some quick thinking to fix the problem! This experience taught me how important it is to be thorough and double and triple check everything I put together.

Spring 2019

What a fun time I had at Mercer! I taught two lessons to these enthusiastic 4th graders about energy forms and changes. These lessons took a great deal of time and thought to prepare, but went very well. My cooperating teacher had requested that I teach on energy forms in a way that was different from the students' usual science work (answering questions in their textbooks) and I was happy to comply! See my lesson plans below if you're interested in seeing the work we did.

Fall 2018

An opportunity to teach math with some math-loving students! At the request of the teacher, I taught a lesson that combined decimals, multiplication, and money. The students loved this lesson and were thoroughly engaged and I absolutely loved getting to work with these bright students!

Fall 2017

One-day observation of 4th grade class – attended lunch, specials, and regular instruction and learned about the difference between public and private schools, as I attended public schools from K-12.
